The Paso Robles Art Association offers shows of members’ artwork in our downtown gallery, The Showroom. Most shows are open to PRAA members only.  Most shows in The Showroom are juried.  For the prospectus of the current and upcoming shows, please see below.

John Barnard Collection Art Sale

John Barnard, one of our supporters and artist extraordinaire, has agreed to give the Paso Robles Art Association exclusive rights to “downsize” his home studio for our benefit, while he enters his own phase of “downsizing”. This “once-in-a-lifetime” event will allow everyone to “own a Barnard” for a greatly reduced price.

Dozens of his original works, unframed and unmatted, will be sold on a “first-come, first-gone” basis on one weekend, August 26 through 29, 2010

Preview Sales will be held on Wednesday evening, August 25 from 6-9 pm and again on Thursday morning, August 26, 10 am-noon. Tickets for preview sales are $10/person. The ticket-holder will be allowed early entry into the sale and be able to purchase works before the sale opens to the public at noon on August 26.

Purchase your ticket for one of our preview dates they will fill up fast, only fifteen buyers in the Showroom each hour.

RANCH DRESSING

This show is a juried exhibition honoring the West but not limited to Western Art. Entries should bring to mind the West, past or present: stage coaches, missions, Yosemite, orange trees, Golden Gate Bridge, wagons, Big Sur, fields, irri-gation, tractors, hitching posts, horses, petticoats, hats. Let your mind wander.

Exhibit runs July 8 to August 10
 Open to PRAA members only.

- Artwork can be any two or three dimensional media.
- All work must be original in concept and executed by the artist within the last two years.
- Compositions taken from published material or other artist's work or photographs will not be considered original.
- Acceptance into the show will be done with the theme in mind.

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

This show honors abstract and non-objective works. Color, balance, texture, line and all the fundamentals of art still apply to pieces in this show. Explore and create your own unique art-work; the subject of your work is up to you. Work submitted must be abstract in style.

UPCOMING SHOWS:

Artist Allies:

Honoring the "worker bees" of the PRAA.  A show offering the artwork of those PRAA members who, over the past ten years,  have held office, chaired committees, or volunteered more than 50 hours as a showffeur (docent) in the Showroom GAllery.  All mediums.  Non-juried. Invitation Only.

Show runs: August 12-22.  Reception 4-6 pm on Thursday, August 12.

My World, Do You See What I See?

A juried show of abstract artworks.  Open to PRAA members only.

Show runs: September 2 - October 5.  Artist reception and awards presentation on September 2, 4-6 pm in the Showroom Gallery.
