UPCOMING SHOWS

CECILY WILLIS & ROD BAKER - (Invitational)
Two Paths to Transparency

January 26 - February 12, 2012

Cecily Willis is a watercolor artist from Newhall, California. She received her MFA in Painting from the Otis Art Institute. She has been a professional artist for over 40 years in the fields of textile design, fashion illustration, and newspaper and corporate graphic design. She is now retired and devotes all of her free time to painting. She loves watercolor and the great adventure of visualizing what you would like a painting to be, and then have it turn out entirely different from what you imagined. Her work would be considered realistic with a translucency that makes it come alive.

Rod Baker describes himself as a "self taught" independent glass artist, beginning with stained glass about 30 years ago and moving into fusing in 2002. In 2007 he began blowing glass, first at Cal Poly, and then in his own studio. Each piece with its vibrant colors and patterns is individually hand crafted, and is one of a kind. Rod lives and works in Los Osos, California.
